About This Spot

At the heart of Modesto’s vibrant street food scene, Taco Trucks offer a spirited, no-frills spot where the rhythm of daily life hums alongside the sizzle of fresh tortillas on the griddle. Pulling up a seat at one of the modest picnic tables, you immediately sense the easygoing flow of neighborhood buzz, punctuated by the familiar calls of vendors and the comforting clatter of a busy lunch in motion.

Here, the pace is unhurried but filled with purpose — friends and families gather around simple tables, sharing stories as the air fills with the scent of seasoned meats and smoky char. The atmosphere is authentic and grounded, inviting you to slow down long enough to savor the moment and the layers of flavor in each bite.

The culinary experience feels lovingly handcrafted, from the spicy warmth of al pastor to the rich, tender carne asada wrapped in fresh, handmade tortillas. Whether it’s a morning stop for breakfast tacos or dinner with friends diving into hearty burritos and quesadillas, the menu unfolds like a story told through textures and aromas that carry a genuine sense of place. The modest setting encourages a joyful, communal experience, where the heat of chorizo or the gentle bite of lengua blends seamlessly with shared laughter and the casual clinking of soda bottles.

What sets Taco Trucks apart is how it balances the raw charm of street food with moments of thoughtful care. While the setting may be simple, there’s an unmistakable pride in the food and a community spirit reinforced by the friendly presence of those keeping the space welcoming and safe. It’s a place where the joy is as much in the human moments—the nods between patrons, the quick chat with the servers—as it is in the food itself.

Visiting Taco Trucks feels like stepping into a corner of Modesto where local culture and cuisine come together without pretension, inviting you to discover not just flavors, but connections—both to the people behind the food and the lively neighborhood it calls home.

Food is great. Bring sanitary wipes if you're worried about the tables. Other than that It has got better with the begger situation. The guards keep away the homeless from the customers. Edit: (10-4-24) The food is still great, but everything has gotten so expensive.

El Mexicano is definitely the best out of the bunch. The tacos de birria are the bomb fried and dipped omflippinG hot and steamy, so fresh and perfectly simple im in foods heaven right now. If you love tacos check these ladies out. The truck on the left makes a few different items then truck on the right. Don't get me wrong they both create some amazing food. You know I can always tell which truck sells good food by walking by and smelling the scent the food gives off, and these trucks smell so great. Enjoy the foods everyone and I highly recommend the tacos de birria .... hint can't find it when you get there? it's right to the left of the order window on the truck to the left.

Burritos were off the chain! Shrimp was over done but I’m still not hating. Nothing but love. Appreciate y’all!

Down in Modesto with the Oscar Mendoza from the Mendoza Brothers Customs where he's showing his 61 and his 66 Impalas and his brother's 61 El Cameno at the Good Guys Low N Slo Winter car show here at the fairgrounds this weekend. They've already secured spots 1, 2 and 3 for best of show, so were going out for tacos to celebrate, and Oscar tells me the best tacos in Modesto are from Taco Trucks! They were Amazing! 5 stars all day long.

We tried food from 2 different trucks, all of them tasted very nice. Also the restroom at the plaza is very clean.

Jessica's taco truck is great. The prices are great and the food is awesome. Highly recommend the quesadilla. It comes with an super tasty side salad with lettuce, crema, salsa, and cotija cheese. I also like the truck in the middle. They have $1 tacos and they use handmade tortillas. I do not like the truck farthest from the bus station.
